Home Flood Kit
This flood kit is designed specifically for residents in flood prone areas.
The contents are based on the recommendations found in the Pitt review: 'Lessons learned from the 2007 floods'. The kit meets the minimum needs of a two to three person household. Homes with four or more residents situated where flooding may occur should stock more gloves and disinfectants. Blankets, warm clothing and boots should also be stored with this kit in a safe and accessible location. Every family that lives in a flood risk area should have an emergency kit and an emergency plan prepared beforehand. An emergency preparedness kit with provisions for 72 hours could be vital if flooding is severe and you are stranded in your home.
