An ATEX  torch  is  a  type  of  torch  or  flashlight  that  is  designed  and  certified  for  use  in  hazardous  environments , such  as   those  found  in  oil  and  gas  exploration ,  chemical  plants ,  and  other  industrial  facilities .  

ATEX  torches  are  built  to  operate spark free so as to avoid triggering explosions. They are  made  from  materials that  are physically  strong  and  resistant  to  corrosion  and  high  temperatures .  They  are  designed  to  be  safe  to use  in areas  where  explosive  vapours,  gases,  and  dusts  may  be  present .
