Job brief

We are looking for an Inventory/Stock Control assistant to help manage our warehouse inventory and replenish stock based on our requirements. This includes all the product procurement processes; Purchase planning, product specification, supplier selection and relations, price negotiation and value analysis, submission of orders, making the purchase, product inventory control, goods inwards oversight, stores quarantine and disposal, invoice reconciliation, product database maintenance and associated tasks.

To be successful in this role, you should have some familiarity with supply chain or accounting procedures and have good communication skills to interact with suppliers and internal teams. Ultimately, you will increase profitability and effectiveness by maintaining optimal stock levels of trade products at all times.


  • Assist in the forecast of supply and demand to prevent overstocking / over-selling 
  • Enter purchase details (product, supplier and pricing) into internal databases
  • Place orders to replenish stock as required
  • Track shipments and address any delays
  • Oversee storage of products
  • Evaluate suppliers’ offers and negotiate profitable deals
  • Coordinate regular inventory audits
  • Liaise with warehouse staff and other internal teams to test products’ quality 
  • Keep updated inventory records
  • Maintain first-in-first-out product control
  • Track product expiry dates and maintain records when relevant
  • Reconcile deliveries with order invoices
  • Co-ordinate returns 


  • Proven work experience in Accounting, Stock Control, Inventory management or similar role
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Working knowledge of inventory management or accounting software 
  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures
  • Active participation in inventory audits
